Louis W. Deeck Jr. (Louie), born September 27, 1952, passed away on March 24, 2023, of Savannah, GA, formerly of Woodbury Heights, NJ.
Lou grew up in Center City Mantua and was a 1970’s graduate of Clearview High School – where he made lifelong friends that he still spoke to daily.
He was a self-employed painting contractor who was lucky enough to have worked alongside his father and also his son.
He met and married Anne in 1975 and together they raised their two children, Dana and Jason. They lived in Woodbury Heights for over 40 years.
Lou was very active in his community; he was a former town councilman, served on the planning board, coached baseball and was Treasurer of the Athletic Association.
Lou was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge and Glassboro Forest Tall Cedars.
He was an avid golfer but also loved to hunt and was a member of the Janvier Deer Club for 38 years.
Lou and Anne loved to travel! They’d get in their car, open up their map and off they’d go! Each year they looked forward to meeting up with longtime friends in Myrtle Beach. Cruises were among their favorite vacations.
He loved a good hand of three card poker!
He loved to eat and he loved to tell you what he ate. He was a storyteller! With his legs crossed and a cigarette in his hand he’d tell you stories and have you laughing. He remembered every little detail.
One good thing about Facebook was it got him back in touch with his cousins and family.
Most of all he loved to talk about his grandchildren and their accomplishments, such as Dalton going into the Air Force and recently receiving Airman of the Year, Jaci succeeding at her job and being a great mom, Presly being dual enrolled at GSU while still being a high school student, and Hayden excelling at softball and volleyball. He was so very proud of all them!
Lou is survived by his loving wife Anne (nee Parker)
Devoted father of Dana Interlante (Stephen) and Jason Deeck (Melissa)
Loving grandfather to Dalton Interlante (Jaclyn), Jaci Shuman (Mason), Presly Carlucci, Hayden Deeck, and great grandson Travis Shuman
His final days were made more comfortable by the caring nurses and aides from Hospice of Savannah – with special thanks to Robyn and DaLawn
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Savannah
A celebration of life to be announced at a later date.

After a long illness, Jon passed away peacefully at his home on Victory Drive, Savannah, Ga.
Jon was born and spent his youth in Butler County, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1961 from
Slippery Rock High School and went on to attend Penn State from 1961 to 1967 where he
received his bachelor’s and master’s degree, an MLA. From 1967-1970 Jon attended The
University of Michigan, where he earned his PHD in Landscape Architecture. Jon’s dedication
earned him first in his class, and upon finishing his PHD he stayed on as a professor for 2
years. Jon left the University of Michigan to work with Ed Stone in Ft.
Lauderdale, Fl. He became a partner, made his home in Ft. Lauderdale, and traveled
throughout his career. His many 5-star projects still showcase his beautiful work. Jon
eventually left the corporate setting and continued with his many passions as an independent
project developer. Jon moved to Savannah, Ga. in 2000 and purchased McMillan Inn where he put on a chef’s
hat and created amazing breakfasts and memories at this popular and Historic Bed and
Breakfast Inn. Then in 2004 he acquired and spent years restoring his mansion-like home on
Victory Drive. His special skills, knowledge and expertise, along with an enthusiastic
commitment, was enjoyed by many who admired his work. Of his numerous accomplishments, restoring his beautiful historic home was one of his favorites, and it remains a noted Savannah landmark.
Jon was an avid reader, golfer, a University of Michigan and Penn State football fan.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents Leona and Edward Fillhart. He was a kindhearted friend to many, and passionate about his family. Especially, his devoted and loving wife Elizabeth Fillhart, his love and companion of 30 years. Jon also leaves behind his step-son Caleb Whitfield Curry III and his daughter-n-law Chalene Curry; granddaughter Caelyn Elizabeth Curry of Sarasota, Fl.; and his cousin Dianna Kelly of Grove City, Pa.
Even though his many projects live on, Jon will be dearly missed by those who continue to love him.
