Anthony Wayne Howell died Tuesday, March 5. He was 61.
Born March 11, 1962 in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charles E. Howell and Louise Young.
His adored stepfather, the late Walter D. Young, also raised him. Survivors include his beloved partner of forty years, Michael A. Pacheco; a sister, Theresa Slone, and two stepbrothers, Ronnie Newby and Kevin Young, a niece and several grand nieces and nephews, all of Lexington.
He supervised the Visit Savannah welcome center on River Street for 18 years, greeting thousands of tourists. His green thumb in the garden and his cheerful mischievousness endeared him to all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Lexington, Kentucky and Savannah.
