
Gladys Lewis, a cherished member of the Savannah community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on June 29, 1937, in Scarboro, Georgia, Gladys was known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and her community.
Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Adel and Lindsey Salisbury, her husband, Willie Lee Lewis Sr.; a son, Anthony Lewis; and a grandson Marques Lewis. Her life was a tapestry of familial love, woven deeply with cherished memories and enduring bonds.
Gladys leaves behind a legacy of generosity and kindness. She is survived by her children, who were the pride and joy of her life: sons and daughter-in-law, Willie Lee (Danica) Lewis, Jr., and Richard Lewis; daughters, Cynthia Cokley and Sharon Lewis; grandchildren, Tawanda Dunbar, Dwayne Randall, Adrienne Moore, Jarret Grier, Steven Lewis, Sedane Lewis, Devin Doyle, Devon Doyle, Tavarus Doyle, Isaiah Lewis, Kiana Lewis, Rashamel Lewis; a great-grandchild, Eboney Magwood; as well as great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Pierce.
Her spirit lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. Her family remembers her as a beacon of strength, a tireless supporter, and a dedicated friend whose laughter and warmth will be profoundly missed.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather and celebrate Gladys’s remarkable life at her funeral service on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The service will be held at Families First Funeral Care & Cremation Center, where arrangements have been entrusted.
Though she is no longer with us in this life, Gladys’s influence will live on through the lives she touched and the profound love she gave. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of many.
